the work „haare machen leute“ deals not only with my own question of identity, but above all with people’s outward appearance.
the aim of the experiment was to create multiple personalities from one person solely by changing their hair. It was particularly important to me to show diversity, as certain looks are often characterised by associations that i tried to break with this project.
after all, we often take a very superficial approach when we first meet someone. my own experiences like this served as motivation for my concept, among other things. the two stylists ella kirsch and jacky elmazovski were a great help in implementing the project.
by combining two crafts, i ultimately came to the conclusion, similar to gottfried keller’s book „kleider machen leute“, which served as a source of inspiration for my project, that people should not be judged by their appearance.
